Positive Parenting

In this session, family members can learn evidence-based positive parenting strategies that will help reduce conflict and lead towards working together with your child or youth. Strategies shared include:
- Tips for effective communication
- Validating thoughts and feelings
- Attending to your child, connecting positively through play
- Setting clear limits and expectations
- Giving positive feedback and celebrating your child
- Teaching your child through modeling
- Making choices
- Using "when...then..." to increase cooperation
- Working with your child on routines, rules, motivators and consequences
