Family sessions

FamilySpace sessions are for individuals who are caring for a child or youth experiencing mental health concerns.

These live online sessions are 60 minutes long and can be participated in anonymously.

Facilitators share helpful mental health information, strategies to help your child, youth or family cope, and simple ideas for taking care of yourself.

Recordings, links and resources are available 24/7 from our website. Any adult who is important in the life of a child or youth can participate in these sessions.

This online course reviews ADHD and how it affects children and teens. Join other families and caregivers to explore why your child acts the way they do and how to give them the tools they need to succeed.

Topics discussed:

  • parenting strategies that work (evidence-based parenting strategies)
  • managing reactions and ups and downs (emotional regulation)
  • planning, organization, making decisions, etc. (executive functioning)
  • social skills

This four-session course for families focuses on collaborative problem solving to help manage behaviours and improve communication. You may be feeling challenged, whether you are hoping to learn more about your child’s behaviours or coping with a child that shuts down. Spirited temperaments, understanding what is behind the child’s behaviour, coping strategies and two-way problem solving/communication will be reviewed.
