Entain reported a 2% increase in group net gaming revenue for the third quarter and reiterated its full-year 2026 financial guidance. The company said growth in its online business and in the UK and Ireland offset weaker sports results and a significant decline in Brazil. Online net gaming revenue rose 3% year-on-year for the quarter ending September 30, while gaming revenue specifically increased 8%. Sports revenue fell 3% due to customer-friendly football results.

Excluding Brazil, online net gaming revenue grew 5% with a 7% increase in volumes. For the full year, Entain expects online net gaming revenue to grow between 4% and 6% on a constant-currency basis. Excluding Brazil, it forecasts growth at the upper end of a 5% to 7% range. The company maintained its underlying EBITDA forecast, excluding parent fees, at the lower end of £910 million to £960 million.

"I am pleased with our Q3 performance which reflects the strength of our execution and reinforces the resilience of our globally scaled business as well as its ability to consistently deliver high-quality growth," said CEO Stella David.

David said underlying momentum across the portfolio supported the decision to maintain the outlook. In the UK and Ireland, net gaming revenue grew 8%, exceeding expectations, with online revenue up 14%. Online gaming revenue in the region rose 17% and sports revenue increased 3%. Retail net gaming revenue in the UK and Ireland grew 3% on a like-for-like basis.

International net gaming revenue fell 4%, dragged down by a 36% decline in Brazil. The company attributed the Brazilian drop to disciplined marketing ahead of an immediate online gambling ban announced on September 25. Excluding Brazil, international online net gaming revenue increased 1%. Other markets showed mixed results, with Australia's online revenue up 1% and Italy's total revenue down 6%. New Zealand, Spain and Canada all delivered double-digit online net gaming revenue growth. The company's 47.5%-owned joint venture BetMGM maintained its full-year guidance, expecting net revenue of $2.9 billion to $3.1 billion. Entain also reaffirmed that the sale of an initial 20% stake in Entain CEE remains on track to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The company continues to expect the group to generate £500 million in annual adjusted cash flow in 2028. David also commented on UK regulatory matters, urging the government to consider the impact of potential tax increases. "Both online and retail are important parts of our business and valued contributors to tax revenues and local communities. We strongly urge the UK Government to carefully consider any further gambling tax increases which would threaten the viability of many shops, jobs and livelihoods," she said.
